• Question: Have you ever found a drug that could cure a type of cancer?

      (Finding a drug is extremely hard though – almost all potential drug compounds never actually make it to market)

    Curing cancer takes lots of work and many stages of different experiments! In my research lab I design different types of drugs to try and kill bowel cancer cells and brain cancer cells. So far, I’ve made some drugs that have not been able to kill the cells, some that work but aren’t any better than what is already available in the hospital, and recently I’ve made some drugs that have been very good at killing the cancer cells! Something specific I look at is seeing if I can make a drug that can not only kill the cancer cells, but also stop them from spreading and making a new tumour.
