I’m from Liverpool and have 2 young boys. My wife is a secondary school teacher. Her role is head of yr 12.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with the family in our garden and trips out. I also like to wild camp throughout the UK. This means carrying a tent, food and water up mountains and staying out in all weathers. Winter is the best time ❄

My role consists of trying to understand why a machine has either stopped working, or is running at lower production rate than normal. This involves understanding data and also understanding human error. We can then use various methods to understand what went wrong and put measures in place to prevent the error or breakdown reoccurring again.
The type of machines at my site are able to process Fruit & Vegetables straight from the Farmer or grower and put in refrigerated lorry without any human touching the product.
As an example, potatoes can come onto site still full of mud, with stones, rocks and vegetation. We are able to wash the crop, grade them in size, discard the bad potatoes and small imperfections and package the good potatoes into bags of various weights from 250g to 2.5kg. Once the potatoes bagged, 2 robotic arms pick up the newly bagged potatoes and place the bags into the green baskets you see at the supermarkets.

My Typical Day:
