I’ve done several great experiments so far, but I’d say that my favourite is real-time fluorescence imaging: we can label our favourite proteins in different colours and follow what they do inside the cells using a special microscope. I used this technique during my PhD to study how mutations in one protein altered the function of cells of the immune system when they had fight off infections, but it has many different applications.
