Work History:
Following University I worked in a customer service for a bank, then got a job as a Technical Design Engineer working on aircraft interiors for 3 years before working for BAE Systems as a Flight Systems Engineer. A Flight Systems Engineer designs, develops and supports equipment on an aircraft. I have worked as a Flight Systems Engineer for 6 years, taking a break for maternity leave in 2018. When I returned from leave I took on a new role in the Future Combat Air System team looking at upcoming technology.

I live in Liverpool with my husband, two year old son and our dog. My parents are from Mauritius and I was born in Liverpool. I love going out to try new cuisine and I’m a big fan of live music. I’ve travelled across America, Japan and Europe, and enjoy experiencing the culture of different countries!

A typical day for me varies. I could be working with suppliers, performing research, liaising with other departments and carrying out my tasks which vary depending which part of the Engineering Lifecycle I am working in. The engineering lifecycle of a piece of equipment goes from the concept or idea, through to development, qualification and test to customer support once it’s on an aircraft.
