My CV

Qualifications:
Irish equivalent I did Home Economics, Science and Business Studies at O Level, then Physics, Chemistry, Geography, French and Irish at A Levels. Then I did a degree in General Science which turned into a degree in Plant Biotechnology! Then I did a Masters at the UEA in Norwich, than a PhD in Dublin.
-
Work History:
I did lots and lots of non-science jobs when I was studying. I worked in Game, Carphone Warehouse and Boots as a sales assistant (and then eventually became an assistant manager!). I also did a lot of waitressing and dishwashing. Working during Uni is a great idea, it gives you some really good skills.
-
Current Job:
Currently I work for NIAB (The National Institute of Agricultural Botany) in Cambridge as a Crop Protection Scientist.
-
About Me:
Irish scientist and avid Star Wars fan who loves insects, fungi, flowers and fruit. I also spend too much time gushing over cute animals.

I’m Irish, from Cork in the South originally, the eldest of 7 children (I know!) and moved to Cambridge 3 years ago. When I’m not gushing over pests and diseases and my veg patch, my other hobbies include geeking out over Star Wars, being a mediocre runner and experimenting with gluten free vegan cookery. I have no pets currently, but in the future I’d like some chickens, a goat and a miniature piglet.
