About Me:
I’m a physicist but also a dancer, foodie, musician and art-lover!

My Typical Day:
I head to my office in the morning around 10am and sit down at my desk with some coffee before I start looking through the data I’m analysing and reporting on my progress to the people I work with. I have lunch with the other PhD students at UCL, and then I usually have another coffee because the after-lunch slump in energy is real! Often I’m dialling into meetings with my collaborators who are spread all over the world, and sometimes I get to travel to conferences to give talks or go to Geneva to work on my experiment in person.

>> 8:00 – I get up and eat breakfast (usually porridge, but I sometimes jazz it up with pomegranate, banana and chocolate!)
>> 10:00 – I arrive at work, set up my desk, make coffee, and water my plants. Then I’m ready to start working on the tasks for that day – whether it’s data analysis, coding, reading papers, writing or discussing my work with colleagues.
>> 12:00 – Lunch time! The best time of the day… Sometimes I can also squeeze in a yoga class during my lunch break.
>> 13:00 – Back to work. I often use some of this time to document my progress – when you work in a collaborative field like high-energy particle physics it’s important to check in often so that the whole team can make progress quickly.
>> 15:00 – Meeting with my supervisor and coworkers to discuss what we’re working on together and any new ideas we have.
>> 16:00 – Last push to get more work done before the end of the day, usually fuelled by coffee!
>> 18:00 – I leave work and head home. My commute takes about 40 minutes so I usually like to read or listen to podcasts during this time.
>> 19:00 – I cook dinner, catch up with my flatmate and we chill out in front of the TV for the rest of the evening.

What I'd do with the prize money:
I’d like to use the prize money to send physicists into schools so students can learn more about what it’s like to study physics and become a scientist
